Sharon Whitney, Owner & Lead Designer
Sharon started her career in interior design while earning her associate’s degree in Interior Design Technology in 1989. In over 25 years she has gained the beneficial experience to tackle design challenges when they arise. Although she specializes in residential interiors, she has also done work in limited commercial projects and as a model home and showroom merchandiser. Sharon loves creating unique features for her client’s home and problem solving tough areas to create an environment where people thrive. Through her work, Sharon’s passion and know-how will take what’s overwhelming, and turn it into an enjoyable experience with vision and results that shine.
Irene Farano, Lead Designer
For over 30 years Irene has felt honored to work in the arts, specifically, the art of interior design. She has enjoyed working with developers on model homes and club houses; as well as home owners with furnishing, decorating and remodeling their residences throughout the southwest Florida area. Irene brings a range of educational experiences along with a vast and award winning design history to Distinctly Yours, to which we are very grateful. Her greatest satisfaction is in her client’s joy and enthusiasm in a home that appeals to their taste and matches their lifestyle, all the while having fun in the process.
Makayla Tomzak, Junior Designer
Makayla is a passionate and driven designer, who received her Associate of Arts and Bachelor’s Degree in Graphic Design by the age of 20. With a five-year background working in graphic design, she has transitioned these skills to the art of interior design. Makayla is successfully utilizing transferable techniques such as attention to scale, balance, and color. She loves blending timeless traditional elements with an innovative flair. Her work prioritizes spaces that feel fresh and unique and most importantly meet the client’s needs of function and taste.
Erica Persons, Office Administrator
As the Office Manager for Distinctly Yours Interiors, Erica brings her organizational expertise and vibrant energy to the team. In her free time she enjoys playing pickleball and spending quality time with her family. Erica’s heart lies in philanthropy, rooted in her nursing education and enriched by her experiences in Christian missions both in Costa Rica and domestically. She is dedicated to helping others, whether through physical assistance, providing food and clothing, or leading community initiatives.
Eileen Clark, Shoppe Assistant
Originally from upstate New York, Eileen became licensed in Cosmetology in 1964. After owning salons for many years, Eileen retired from the profession in 2022 and came on board to assist her daughter Sharon at Distinctly Yours handling inventory, sales, organization and custom florals. As shoppe assistant, she finds great joy in the opportunity to continue expressing herself in the arts. She has been married since 1965 and is very proud of her 2 daughters, 6 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. Eileen’s philosophy is to do a good deed everyday; if you miss a day then do 2 the next day.
